Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV tells Auto Express it will stop marketing Chrysler-brand vehicles in the U.K. by 2017.
Last year FCA sold fewer than 2,000 Chrysler 300 sedans and Grand Voyager minivans in England and Ireland, according to the British enthusiast magazine. Both models are imported from FCA factories in Ontario, Canada.
FCA will continue to sell the Ypsilon supermini, a variant of the Fiat 500, in the U.K. on an order-only basis until 2017 and then drop that model too.
FCA has marketed the 300 and Grand Voyager elsewhere in Europe under its Lancia brand. But Auto Express says the company also plans to withdraw Lancia from all markets outside Italy.
Meanwhile, FCA is restructuring its dealer network in the U.K. by combining Alfa Romeo and Jeep franchises. Auto Express says dealers who sell Fiat-brand vehicles as a separate group will continue to do so.
