Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV is updating its Uconnect infotainment and telematics system so users can access third-party service providers.
Developed in partnership with Lear Corp.’s Xevo unit, the new Uconnect Market platform will be offered in 2019 and 2020-model Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and Ram vehicles later this year. The free upgrade will be made via an over-the-air software update in vehicles equipped with connected services and FCA’s latest 8.4-inch touchscreens.

Users can locate nearby service providers, then order, reserve and pre-pay for various products and services from their vehicle.
Among the initial partners are Shell fuel stations, Domino's pizza, Park Whiz parking and Yelp restaurant reservations. Customers also can schedule appoints at FCA’s Mopar dealership service centers.
FCA aims to offer connectivity services across its global new vehicle lineup by 2022. The carmaker is working with Samsung’s Harman International unit to ensure customer data is managed securely.
