Delphi Automotive plc reports its revenue grew 3% to $4.1 billion and net income jumped 13% to $305 million in the third quarter of 2014.

The U.K.-based supplier of electronic systems says its operating income for the period climbed 9% to $468 million. Gains were driven by revenue growth of 9% in Asia and 6% in North America. Results were flat in Europe, and revenue plunged 20% in what it describes as an "ugly" South American market.

Delphi increased the bottom end of its full-year earnings forecast by 5 cents to a range of $5-5.10 per share. The company expects revenue will total about $17.2 billion in 2014.
