Daimler AG, refuting a new reports to the contrary, says the new plug-in hybrid and all-electric vehicles it is developing remain on schedule.

Yesterday Germany’s Handelsblatt cited unnamed sources at Daimler who claimed at least two programs—the all-electric EQC crossover vehicle (pictured) expected next year and a plug-in hybrid version of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class large sedan coming in 2021—are late because of technical issues and battery supply problems.

The newspaper reports that the EQC crossover will arrive at dealerships in Germany a year from now, several months later than originally planned. The report says the hybrid S-Class, had been expected to debut a year sooner.

But a spokesman tells Reuters, “There are no delays.” He says the carmaker hasn’t yet announced launch dates for either model.
