A monthly poll of financial market experts finds rising confidence in Germany’s current economic conditions but a slightly less optimistic view of the future.
The closely watched ZEW Indicator of Economic Sentiment for Germany, which tracks confidence in the country’s economy six months from now, fell 2 points to 18.6 in June against a long-term average of 23.9.

ZEW (the Center for European Economic Research) notes that respondents are encouraged by the EU economy overall. The research group says 71% predict current conditions will continue, and 25% predict further improvement over the next six months.
