China's central government aims to trim the country's economic growth in 2015 to 7%, BBC News reports. That rate compares with 7.5% last year, the slowest pace in 24 years.
Beijing said last year it wants to reduce adjust China economy to a "new normal" pace of balanced and sustainable growth.
Premier Li Keqiang announced the new target earlier today during the National People's Congress. He also says the government has targeted a 3% inflation rate this year, down from 3.5% in 2014. Li also says the government hopes to create 10 million more jobs this year.
