GM says Posawatz, 52, retired but issued no further information and has not publicly named his replacement. He tells reporters he plans to enjoy the summer with his family and then consider other jobs related to transportation.
Posawatz joined GM more than 25 years ago. Before the Volt program, he was vehicle line director for such GM models as the Cadillac Escalade SUV and Chevrolet Avalanche pickup truck.
