General Motors Co.’s new Chevrolet Bolt electric vehicle and Audi AG’s adaptive cruise control system were selected Technology Car of the Year and Technology Feature of the Year, respectively, by Autoblog.com.
The 2017 Bolt hatchback was heralded for its 238-mile electric driving range and affordability, with a starting price of $38,000. The other two finalists in the category were the Acura NSX hybrid and Mercedes-Benz E-Class.
Audi’s advanced cruise control edged out Cadillac’s rear-camera mirror and Jaguar’s “activity key” to win the tech feature award. In addition to maintaining a set speed and trailing distance, the Audi cruise system can be integrated with a car’s navigation system and road sign identification technology. The technology takes into account topography, curves and speed limits to enhance efficiency and safety.
