Irvine, Calif.-based Autobytel Inc. is changing its name to AutoWeb, a brand acquired by the automotive marketing services company two years ago.
The company says AutoWeb better reflects its operations and corporate strategy, which includes expanding internet leads and a “pay-per-click” platform. The latter directs online shoppers to dealer and carmaker websites.
In conjunction with the name change, the company’s stock will switch to "AUTO" from "ABTL.” The moves are effective Oct. 9.
