Audi AG and longtime Chinese partner FAW Group Corp. have agreed to a 10-year growth plan for China that includes introducing five locally produced “e-tron” electrified models over the next five years.

Under the new plan, Audi and FAW have identified 21 areas in which to work together. In addition to vehicle production and sales, the list includes adding financial services for customers and partnering in a joint venture that will focus on mobility and digital services.

Audi sold 591,500 vehicles in China last year, up nearly 4% from 2015 levels. Later this year the partners will add two plug-in hybrid models: the Chinese-built Audi A6 L e-tron sedan and the imported Q7 e-tron crossover/SUV. The e-tron lineup eventually will be expanded to include full EVs with driving ranges of more than 500 km (310 mi), according to Audi. The brand currently imports the A3 e-tron hybrid to China.
