Audi AG—which last month began building its first all-electric car, the e-tron crossover vehicle—hopes to achieve full capacity by the end of 2018.
Audi hasn’t announced an output target. But French analyst firm Inovev JSC predicts an annualized volume of 20,000 units for the EV. The crossover is being produced at Audi’s plant in Brussels.
The Belgian plant has been heavily modified to make the EV and will add an electric Sportback model next year. Patrick Danau, managing director of Audi Brussels, cautions that production volume for the electric crossover will be determined by the ability suppliers to meet demand.
