Third-quarter sales climbed 16% to $951 million for American Axle & Manufacturing Holdings Inc. Operating income jumped 26% to $85 million, and net income soared 54% to $49 million.
AAM, which has been trying for years to increase the proportion of its business from non-General Motors sources, says such sales climbed 37% in the first nine months of 2014 to $883 million, or 32% of total revenue.
