Toyota Motor Corp. is expected to offer an all-wheel-drive variant of its Prius hybrid car in the U.S. next year.

In the lead-up to the car’s unveiling later this month at the Los Angeles auto show, Toyota released an image of the vehicle plowing through snow. The accompanying press release boasts that the 2019 Prius can “performs on roads whether snowy or clear.”

Toyota has offered the Prius E-Four with awd in Japan for three years. An electric motor powers the rear wheels when the system senses additional traction is needed.
