VW also offered a new labor agreement through 2019. The company says it will achieve targeted cost reductions with voluntary buyouts and cutbacks on the use of temporary workers.
The company's union says VW has agreed to replace last year's one-time bonuses with an annual wage increase equal to the inflation rate plus 1%.
