General Motors Co.’s Vauxhall brand is preparing to call back 234,900 Zafira B minivans in the U.K. to fix a potential fire hazard. The recall, which will begin in August, covers 2005-2014 Zafiras with right-hand drive.
The campaign repeats a recall in December to address the same problem: a resistor and fuse in the heater blower system that was repaired rather than replaced.
In the first callback, dealers reinstalled an original-equipment resistor. In the new recall, they will replace that device with a redesigned unit. Dealers also will fit the minivans with new waterproofing molding at the base of the windshield. In many cases, they also will replace the blower motor and pollen filter.
