French supplier Valeo SA boosted revenue to €2.8 billion in the third quarter of this year from €2.7 billion in the same period of 2011.
More than half the improvement came from the weaker euro. Valeo says strong sales in China and North America also boosted results.
Valeo's revenue from original-equipment sales (excluding currency effects and consolidation) rose 1% year on year to €2.4 billion in the July-September period. That total includes declines of 3% to €1.2 billion in Europe and 8% to €154 million in South America.
Adjusted original-equipment sales in the third quarter climbed 13% to €434 million in North America and rose 4% to €646 million in Asia. The latter includes a 17% sales jump to €267 million in China.
