France's Valeo SA, which generated revenue of €10 billion ($13.1 billion) in China last year, has targeted sales of €20 billion ($26.2 billion) there by 2015, Automotive News China reports.
Edouard de Pirey, director of Valeo's China unit, tells the newspaper it will expand three of its 22 plants in the country this year to meet growing demand. The company boosted revenue in China from original-equipment parts by 23% to €282 million ($370 million) in the first quarter of 2013.
Valeo plans to expand its workforce of more than 12,000 people in China. By next year, the company will have more employees there than in France, Pirey says.
