U.S. Fuel Prices at Record High for the Year
The average price for a gallon of regular-grade gasoline climbed to $2.88 yesterday, its highest price this year, according to auto insurance giant AAA.

The average price for a gallon of regular-grade gasoline climbed to $2.88 yesterday, its highest price this year, according to auto insurance giant AAA.
The current price is 63 cents greater than on Jan. 1, but only 7 cents more than 12 months ago. Prices in 17 states are even closer to or already beyond $3 per gallon. AAA predicts the national average will surpass last year’s high of $2.97.
State-by-state averages range from $2.51 per gallon in Alabama to $4.08 in California.
