American sentiment about economic conditions hit a five-month low in June as concerns about jobs and income rise, according to the New York City-based Conference Board.
The research group's sentiment index fell to 62 in June from 64.4 in May. Its gauge of the present situation climbed, but the measure of six-month expectations plunged. The Conference Board says consumers may curb their spending in the short-term.
