Britain’s transport ministry says it will finalize a report early next year that details how the country’s entire transport system can achieve net zero emissions of greenhouse gases by 2050.

Reuters says the plan will explain the steps the business, government and society must take to reach the goal and analyze how the effort will affect how people and goods are transported.
The vow comes as environmentalists complete a week of disruptions in London that focus on the transport ministry and decisions it makes that impact climate change.
Yesterday the government also introduced a bill in Parliament that would help create legally binding targets to reduce air pollutants. The measure also will create an environmental office with authority to monitor the government’s progress toward achieving the 2050 goals.
