China imports of British passenger vehicles climbed to 137,400 units last year from 120,000 in 2013, according to the London-based Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders.

China imports of British passenger vehicles climbed to 137,400 units last year from 120,000 in 2013, according to the London-based Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders.
Volume has jumped fivefold since 2009, making China second only to the U.K. in demand for British-built cars. SMMT says nearly 19% of vehicle made in the U.K. are shipped to Asian markets.
