Revenue at TRW Automotive Holdings Corp. grew 5% to $4.4 billion in January-March. Net earnings reached $199 million from $162 million in the first quarter of 2013.
Results were bolstered by a 16% hike in demand for the company's safety systems in China and increases in vehicle production in all other major markets. TRW's first-quarter operating income climbed to $308 million from $253 million.
The company now expects its full-year revenue will range between $17.4 billion and $17.7 billion compared with its previous forecast of $17.3 billion-$17.6 billion. Last year TRW generated sales of $17.4 billion.
