President Donald Trump met earlier today with CEOs from Ford, Tesla and other companies to reiterate his promise to lower corporate taxes from 35% to somewhere between 15% and 20%.
He also said he aims to reduce regulations that affect decisions to build factories in the U.S. “by 75%, maybe more,” Reuters reports.
But Trump warned the executives they can expect a “very major border tax” if they move production outside the country and then import their foreign-made goods. Ford CEO Mark Fields told reporters after the meeting that “the president is very, very serious” about bolstering the American economy.
