Toyota Motor Corp. says it has sold more than 9 million hybrid-powered vehicles worldwide since launching its Coaster and Prius hybrids in 1997.

Toyota Motor Corp. says it has sold more than 9 million hybrid-powered vehicles worldwide since launching its Coaster and Prius hybrids in 1997.
The company currently offers 34 hybrid models—including one plug-in hybrid—in global markets. It expects cumulative sales to top 15 million units by 2020, with annual sales targeted to reach 1.5 million hybrids by then.
Toyota estimates that its hybrid fleet has prevented 67 million tons of carbon dioxide emissions over the years.
