Tesla Inc. has filed a trademark registration application in the U.S. for the names Cybertruck and CYBRTRK, suggesting that will be the name of its upcoming electric pickup truck.
CEO Elon Musk has referred to the vehicle, which will be unveiled next week, as the cybertruck. The patent application also included a Cybertruck logo.
Tesla previously has said the pickup will have a 300,000-lb towing capacity and a driving range as great as 500 miles. Musk says the truck’s design was inspired by vehicles in the sci-fi movie classic “Blade Runner.” He tweeted a teaser image (above) in July.
