Tesla Motors Inc. disputes a report that the long-touted 2017 debut of the company's $35,000 Model 3 electric sedan has been pushed back to 2018.
On Monday Insider EV.com cited a presentation by J.B. Straubel, Tesla's chief technology officer, that included a slide that stated, "$35K 200-mi-range EV planned for 2018."
Tesla insists it remains on track to unveil the Model 3 in 2016 and begin production in late 2017. It says Straubel's slide's reference to 2018 indicates when the new car is expected to achieve full production.
