Tesla Motors Inc. has opened eight more of its high-power, direct-current Supercharger stations in Europe.
The new array enables owners of the company's Model S electric sedans to quickly recharge their cars at no cost along a route through the Netherlands, Germany, Austria and Switzerland that starts in Brussels and ends in Geneva.
Tesla has opened 14 such stations in Europe and 67 elsewhere most of them in the U.S. The facilities can deliver as much as 120 kilowatts of direct-current power to the Model S battery, replenishing half its capacity in about 20 minutes.
The Supercharger network is for Model S owners only and is not compatible with other EVs.
