The Tesla Model S electric sedan has scored a near-perfect 99 out of 100 points in this year's Consumer Reports owner-satisfaction ratings.
Other high-scoring models are the Porsche Boxster sports car, Audi A6 large sedan, Mazda6 midsize sedan, Subaru Forester crossover, Dodge Charger sedan and Volkswagen Golf TDI diesel small car.
CR says the Model S topped the list because of its design, performance, practicality and 200-mile range. The magazine's scores are based on feedback from some 350,000 readers, including 600 Tesla owners.
The 2013 survey collected responses on more than 285 models from 2011-2014 model years. Scores are based on the percentage of respondents who respond "definitely yes" when asked if they would buy the vehicle they own again.
In May CR gave the Model S a score of 99 out of 100 in its own performance evaluation, gushing that the car was "better than anything we've tested before."
