Swiss Firm Targets Superfast Acceleration for New EV

Classic Factory SA is developing an all-electric supercar that the company claims will rocket from zero to 100 kph (62 mph) in less than 2.3 seconds, which would make it one of the fastest cars in the world.
Dubbed the Elextra, the new sedan will feature an all-wheel-drive electric powertrain. Teaser images of the vehicle, which is due to be publicly unveiled later this year, were released this week.
The Porsche 918 Spyder and Bugatti Chiron are the reigning production speed champs, with zero to 60 mph times of 2.3 seconds. A handful of race cars and limited-edition hyper cars have posted sub-2 second times. The Tesla Model S P100D, Ferrari LaFerrari FXXK, Bugatti Veyron and Lamborghini Sesto Elemento all clock in at 2.4 seconds.
Classic Factory was formed in Switzerland in 2009 by Swiss designer Robert Palm and Danish entrepreneur Poul Sohl. The company plans to build 100 Elextras at a third-party factory near Stuttgart, Germany.
