Atlis Motor Vehicles, a Mesa, Ariz.-based startup launched in 2016, has developed a dedicated platform for electric pickup trucks.

The company plans to use the XP platform for its own XT pickup and will license the technology to specialty builders. No timeframe was given for the XT pickup, which will be available with batteries to provide 300-, 400- and 500-mile driving ranges. Propulsion will be delivered by a pair of electric motors.

The XP features a skateboard design with drive-by-wire capabilities. Atlis claims the batteries can be fully recharged in less than 15 minutes.
