Volkswagen AG’s Skoda unit will take the wraps off an all-electric concept vehicle at next month’s Geneva auto show.
Dubbed the Vision iV, the concept previews a future production model that will be built on VW’s MEB (modular electric toolkit) platform. Several teaser images of the vehicle were released this week.
Updating Skoda’s 2017 Vision E electric concept, the Vision iV reflects Skoda’s latest design cues. The new model appears to be a small crossover vehicle with coupe-like styling.
Other highlights include full-width LED daytime running lights underneath the main headlamps. Despite the EV architecture, Skoda’s traditional grille treatment with cooling vents is maintained.
The concept eschews side mirrors and door handles. But the production model likely will include such features, while downsizing the concept’s 22-inch wheels.
Skoda’s first EV, an electric version of the Citigo city car, will bow early next year. By 2025, the Czech brand aims to have at least six EVs and four hybrids in its lineup.
