Singapore’s Vanda Electrics will publicly unveil its concept Dendrobium supercar next week at the Geneva auto show.
The EV will feature a roof and doors that open automatically in a synchronized manner to resemble a fully opened dendrobium flower, an orchid native to Singapore. The company has released a selection of images and a short film about the car.
Vanda currently produces an electric scooter and a small electric delivery truck. The company is partnering with Williams Advanced Engineering Ltd., the technology offshoot of the Williams Group and its Formula One team, on the Dendrobium.
Williams Engineering specializes in electrification, aerodynamics, lightweight structures and vehicle integration. The partners say they plan to work together on other unspecified projects in the future.
Vanda also lists Singapore’s Wong Fong Industries, which specializes in transportation-based research and development programs, as one of its business partners.
