Jaguar Land Rover Ltd. will announce this week that it plans to assemble three all-electric models at its factory in Castle Bromwich, England, according to London’s Sunday Times.
The first vehicle will be a battery-powered iteration of the Jaguar XJ large sedan, the report says. The Times says the car will be followed by an electric version of the next-generation Ranger Rover, then a third unspecified vehicle.
All three EVs will ride on JLR’s “modular longitudinal architecture.” The platform for large vehicles is designed to accommodate all-electric, plug-in hybrid and mild hybrid powertrains.
