Ford Motor Co. will take the wraps off its upcoming Mustang-inspired all-electric crossover vehicle later this year, according to Autocar.
Due to launch sometime next year, the EV will share styling cues and possibly a platform with the next-generation Mustang. Ford says the electric crossover will have a driving range of at least 300 miles.
The carmaker announced plans for the EV in early 2018. At the time, Ford hinted that it might revive the iconic Mach 1 name for the crossover. Following negative public feedback, Ford backed off and now is expected to use Mach 1 for a hybrid version of the next-generation Mustang due in 2022.
