Renault SA's revenue in the first quarter of 2015 climbed to €9.4 billion from €8.3 billion in the same period last year.

The group's unit sales in January-March advanced 1% to 641,600 vehicles. Group registrations in Europe rose 10%, offsetting an 11% drop elsewhere.

Renault's new-car registrations in the first quarter fell 16% in Brazil and 41% in Russia. But volume jumped 13% in Africa, the Middle East and India.

The group now expects its full-year sales will grow 5% compared with the 2% it forecasted previously. Renault says its plan to consolidate its holding in Russia's OAO AvtoVAZ remains suspended pending the moment when "conditions for full control" are met.
