The Renault-Nissan alliance has agree to provide Orange SA, the French telecommunications giant, with 200 electric cars and vans next year.

The vehicles will include Renault's ZOE five-door hatch and Kagoo Z.E. small delivery van and Nissan's Leaf sedan and e-NV200 large passenger van.

The vehicles will join Orange's fleet of 2,000 pool vehicles and be used for car sharing and shuttles between the company's facilities in France. Employees will be able to book vehicles for job-related or personal use online or with a smartphone.

Orange plans to acquire more than 1,000 EVs by 2020, which will represent about one-third of its car-sharing fleet in France. The company says the vehicles will help it achieve a goal of lowering its carbon dioxide footprint 20% by then.
