Renault SA has promoted manufacturing and purchasing head Thierry Bollore to chief competitiveness officer and named sales and marketing boss Jerome Stoll as chief performance officer.
The appointments to the newly created positions take effect on Tuesday. Both executives will report to CEO Carlos Ghosn.
Renault said last week that it would eliminate the chief operating officer job and split that function into two parts. The change follows the departure of COO Carlos Tavares late last month.
Under the new structure, Bollore will lead a new management board that will oversee product development, design, engineering, IT, manufacturing, purchasing and supply chain. His duties include product competitiveness, quality, cost control ad program profitability.
Jose Vicente de los Mozos replaces Bollore as executive vice president of manufacturing and purchasing.
Stoll will head a second board in charge of sales and marketing, including coordinating the group's regional units and its industrial and commercial operations. He will be responsible for the company's revenue, market share and sales profitability.
Stoll will retain his current job as executive vice president of sales and marketing.
Michael van der Sande will become senior vice president of marketing on Oct. 1. He will replace Stephen Norman, who is taking an unspecified new job.
