Renault-Nissan EV Sales Top 350,000 Units

The Renault-Nissan alliance says it has sold an industry-leading 350,000 electric vehicles worldwide since the Nissan Leaf EV was launched in December 2010.
The partners, which say they account for about half of all EV sales worldwide, topped the 100,000 mark for a 12-month period for the first time with sales through August.
Nissan has sold more than 250,000 EVs in 48 markets over the last six years, with the Leaf accounting for the bulk (230,000) of the tally. The carmaker also sells the electric e-NV200 light commercial vehicle in Europe and Japan.
Renault surpassed 100,000 cumulative EV sales in August. Its Zoe small car is the top-selling EV in Europe with year-over-year sales jumping 32% through the first half of 2016. The carmaker also offers three other all-electric models: the Kangoo Z.E van, SM3 Z.E. sedan and Twizy city car.
