Renault SA and Daimler AG have launched three recalls in Europe to repair brake flaws in about 485,000 small cars and delivery vans, Reuters reports.
The companies began calling back some of the vehicles, which were produced at Renault's factory in Maubeuge, France, in July.
The largest campaign covers about 402,000 Clio mini hatchbacks with brake lines that could leak after rubbing against an improperly installed component.
A second recall involves 64,000 Renault Kangoo small delivery vans with incorrectly wired antilock braking systems. A third campaign will check for incorrectly installed brake lines in an estimated 18,000 Mercedes-Benz Citan vans. The Citan is a clone of the Kangoo.
