PSA Group is creating a new business unit devoted to electric vehicles and reorganizing its powertrain management.

The Low Emission Vehicles unit, which launched on April 1, is headed by Alexandre Guignard. The group will oversee the electrification of PSA’s entire model range between 2019 an 2025. The new business unit also will oversee the company’s efforts to meet European carbon dioxide emission targets.

Guignard reports to Linda Jackson, CEO of PSA’s Citroen brand. He succeeds Alain Raposo, who had been in charge of PSA’s electric vehicle programs.

Raposo has been appointed senior vice president to head PSA powertrain and chassis engineering activities. The former head of powertrains and EV engineering for the Renault-Nissan alliance joined PSA last July as senior vice president for EV programs.
