Toyota Motor Corp. says 91,600 of its 2016-2017 model Prius hybrids in the U.S. have parking brakes that could fail, increasing the chance of a rollaway after the driver leaves the vehicle.
The company says a cable connecting the foot-operated brake to the packing brake mechanism could come loose. Dealers will install a retaining clip to prevent the problem when Toyota begins recalling affected cars in mid-December.
