The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has concluded that engine stalling problems in some of Fiat Chrysler Automobile NV's Dodge Grand Caravan minivans are not big enough to warrant a recall.
NHTSA launched an investigation last September into more than 100 complaints about 2007 model Grand Caravans stalling at low speed shortly after being refueled. Several complaints claim the problem is a faulty fuel tank valve.
But investigators conclude the problem is rare, even in vehicles that are 13 years old. They also note there have been no reports of crashes or injuries resulting from a stall. NHTSA said it is dropping the matter "given the need to allocate and prioritize" its limited resources.
