FAW Group’s Sitech Electric Automobile unit is launching a new electric vehicle brand and plans to unveil its first model next month in Los Angeles.

Dubbed Gyon, the stand-alone brand claims the upcoming EV can travel as far as 434 miles on a single charge. Zero-to-62 mph acceleration is said to take less than four seconds.

Gyon says the vehicle will incorporate autonomous vehicle technology, which it describes as “the highest-level” in the world, from Robert Bosch GmbH. Gaffoglio Family Metalcrafters Inc., a Fountain Valley, Calif.-based automotive fabricator, will provide engineering and design support.

The car also will feature connected vehicle systems, an advanced driver interface and Sitech's G-OS intelligent vehicle operating system. Sitech will manufacture the vehicles at an existing facility in China.
