Shanghai Automotive Industry Corp.’s MG brand took the wraps off its first all-electric model, the eZS crossover vehicle, at this week’s Guangzhou auto show in China.

Due later this year, the EV is based on MG’s ZS compact crossover. The vehicle is expected to generate 148 hp and have a driving range of about 270 miles on the European driving cycle, Autocar reports.

SAIC purchased the MG and Rover (since renamed Roewe) brands from the U.K.’s defunct MG Rover Group in 2007. New models continue to be designed in England but are produced in China.

MG is on pace to nearly double its sales this year in China, where it sold about 135,000 vehicles in 2017. The company also is expanding in Europe.
