Mazda, Mitsubishi Launch New Takata Airbag Inflator Recalls

Mazda says it will call back nearly 1.9 million vehicles, Bloomberg News reports. MMC says it will recall 152,700 vehicles in Japan and has not yet determined how many more will be targeted overseas.
Bloomberg says the two new campaigns bring the total for the companies to at least 5.5 million vehicles worldwide. Ten carmakers in all have so far recalled roughly 45 million vehicles to replace Takata inflators for the driver’s-side airbag, passenger-side airbag or both.
