Magna International Inc.’s Cosma International arm plans to build an aluminum casting facility in Telford, England, to support Jaguar Land Rover’s U.K. manufacturing operations.

Construction of the 225,000 sq-ft facility is due to start this autumn, and Cosma aims to launch production there in 2018. At full-capacity, the new plant is expected to employ nearly 300 people.

The facility will use Magna's high-pressure, vacuum-die-casting process to produce a variety of aluminum components for Jaguar. Magna says the production technique optimizes strength, stiffness and weight characteristics.
