Volkswagen AG’s Lamborghini supercar unit says it has high interest in an all-electric powertrain but isn’t likely to introduce one until at least 2025.

“We need to be realistic” about the development effort required, CEO Stefano Domenicali tells reporters at the Geneva auto show.

Lamborghini plans to introduce an electric hybrid version of its upcoming Urus crossover vehicle in 2020. But Domenicali says a purely electric car is feasible only if it can deliver credible supercar handling, power and weight.
