Workers protesting worker firings at Renault SA’s factory in Bursa, Turkey, halted output on Monday. Production resumed on Tuesday.
The Oyak Renault venture between Renault and the Turkish army pension fund describes the disruption as a “technical issue.” Reuters notes the facility was shut down for a week last year by protests over working conditions.
A union official tells Reuters the protest began on Monday after 10 of its members were fired for unreported reasons. The facility assembles the Clio small hatchback, Fluence midsize sedan, Megane midsize hatchback and Symbol supermini cars.
