Jaguar Land Rover Ltd. is considering several derivatives of its all-electric I-Pace crossover vehicle that bows this summer.

Teams within the carmaker are evaluating multiple options, Hanno Kirner, who heads JLR’s product planning, tells Autocar. These include SVA (luxury), SVR (performance) and SVX (off-road) models.

A high-performance I-Pace SVR likely is at the top of the list, Autocar suggests. Kirner says such a vehicle would blend all-out power with improved ride and handling characteristics.

While EVs lend themselves to super-fast acceleration—possibly even clocking zero-to-60 mph times in under 2 seconds—Kirner cautions about taking the trend too far. He suggests it might be best to limit such models to drivers who have passed performance training courses.
