Jaguar Land Rover Automotive plc says it will begin selling its Jaguar I-Pace all-electric crossover vehicle in China in the fourth quarter of 2018.

JLR told attendees at last week’s Global Automotive Forum in Chongqing that will import the sporty SUV from Graz, Austria, where it is being built by contract assembler Magna Steyr. The I-Pace will retail in China for 688,000 yuan ($107,400), a price about 50% greater than the retail cost in Europe and the U.S.

The vehicle is powered by two electric motors that deliver a combined 395 hp and 513 lb-ft of torque. The system can propel the I-Pace from zero to 60 mph in 4.8 seconds. Jaguar says the car will be able to travel about 240 miles per charge.

Later this year JLR also will begin Chinese production of its piston-powered E-Pace small SUV/crossover in Changshu. The carmaker assembles four other models in China: Land Rover’s Range Rover Evoque and Discovery Sport SUVs, and long-wheelbase versions of Jaguar’s small XE sport sedan and midsize XF sedan.
